33DC09- Indian

Hello,

I can one hundred percent relate to today's theme in 33 Days Challenge. Being an Indian, I was very much excited about today's theme. This is the first theme for which i had so so many ideas to choose from. I kinda wanted  to do them all but that is not  possible.

When i thought about what to create to represent India, two things came to my mind Indian Wedding and  colors. Though i did Indian Wedding nails with Cheeky jumbo plate C but then i realized that it will be too obvious nail art design for today. So I decided to do a second manicure, this time i chose to represent colors and Indian Textile.

I am from Jaipur, capital city of Rajasthan state. Rajasthan is famous  for so many things like its culture, history, forts, spicy food, colors etc. I decide to do a nail art inspired from Rajasthani tie-dye textile.

This manicure is inspired from Lehariya and Bandhej(Bandhani) print. Both Lehariya and Bandhani are Tie-Dye techniques, the basic difference between them is how the fabric is tied for dying it. Lehariya is a wavy stripes pattern on a fabric and Bandhani is square and dots pattern creating different kinda designs on a fabric.

Both of them is wear by both men (Rajasthani turban) and women(saree, rajputi poshak, salwar kameez, scarves, kurti, stoles etc). Bandhani is worn all year around on both auspicious and  festive occasions as well as casual wear whereas Lehariya is worn in spring time, but people like me wear it whenever they want.

Lehariya and Bandhani inspired nail art
Anyway i think i talked too much today and i am not sure if anybody is reading it :)
So here is my manicure:
Rajasthani nail art
base polish: sinful colors Gogo Girl(red) and Catrice Hugo Moss(green)
stripes and dotted square: freehanded with acrylic colors
topped with seche vite

Indian Nail art

I didnt try to make the stripes perfect straight or the square to be perfect squares as both Lehariya and Bandhani doesnt have perfect stripes or square. i guess that made my work easier.

I chose red, green and yellow colors for this manicure because these colors are most favorite colors of Rajasthani women for festive occasions.

I hope you like this mani. I loved this theme and thank you CNT for having this theme.

Happy Weekend!!

33DC08- Chevron

Hi,

Very quick post today. I did a simple gold-black chevron tips for day eight of 33 day challenge.

I applied one coat of nailtek foundation II on all my nails and created chevron freehanded. Pretty simple and quick mani yet the classic combination of golden n black makes it perfect for night outs. Golden i used here is OPI golden eye. Though its looking sheer in the pics but its pretty opaque in real.

33DC07- Art with Oldest Untried

Hello,

I am very excited this week. We are celebrating Hindu Festival Navratri which is 9 days long festival, where we worship Hindu goddess Durga. I really like this time of year, we have lots of festival in the month of October, November.

Coming to today's post. Today's theme is Art with Oldest Untried. I chose A-England Saint George. I got this polish back in February gifted by a friend. I wanted this polish and loved this polish but never did a manicure with it.
Saint George is a deep teal holographic polish. Its a perfect one coater and so pretty.  There was no sunlight so all pictures are taken in a light-box. Here are some swatches of A-England Saint George.

I did a stamping manicure using SA01 and SA07 stamping plates.
I used Myonline Shop's Apple Green stamping polish which btw stamps very well over dark bases including black.
Another polish i used for stamping is color club halographic Eternal Beauty.

When I completed the manicure, I realized that maybe I got the theme wrong, it says Artwork and I didnt do a manicure inspired from an artwork but I hope it qualifies and you all like it.

Please comment what you think about it.

Have a nice week ahead.

Here is a link which explain how to perform a self-exams at home and it is advised to perform this once a month.

If you also want to participate in Pink Friday manicure collaboration than click on the link to get in-linkz and hashatags for it: Breast Cancer Awareness- Pink Friday Manicure Collaboration.

33DC05- Mexican

Hi,

Today's theme is very unique and definitely was a challenge to do. I never attempted doing Mexican theme before and honestly it would be very difficult if i didnt have Cheeky Jumbo Plate Viva Mexico with me. It gave me so much satisfaction that i justified my purchase.. haha!!

For this mani i did use stamping decals as well as painted my thumb and ring finger with bright color stripes inspired from Mexican bright colored poncho. Here is my manicure:
33 days challenge day 5- mexican
 products used:

base polish: OPI A-piers to be tan
image plate: cheeky 2013 jumbo Viva Mexico plate
topped with seche vite

I really liked how well it came out. Although because i click my pics too closely so you can see all the mistakes and mess clearly here but in-person this looked fabulous.

PS. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so I am doing a pink manicure this friday to support this cause. I will probably combine texture with pink nails to incorporate both themes in a single mani. You can also participate and support this cause. Here is the link to the post for more information: http://www.crazypolishes.com/2013/10/wear-pink-this-friday-breast-cancer.html

Hope you like this manicure.
