Best Of British Roundup

British Nail Bloggers

Hi,
I am so excited to post my first British Nail Blogger roundup .. u gals are awesome ..

The weather in the UK may have improved a little but not enough for Vic to justify running off to Cornwall to catch the surf. Instead she's made do with her Surfin' USA mani.

It's been KBShimmer Week this week at The Crumpet 5 polishes, but which was her favourite ?

Laura has been trying out stamping for the first time this week and was particularly fond of her classyblack and silver floral design.

PrettyKittyClaws has been making the most of the sunshine by copying The Crumpet with a Red Holo Dotticure. feautring Ozotics 518

Helly at the Nail Newbie got her holo on with a purple holo gradient featuring OPI DS Original!

Charlotte at Charlottes-nails has been catching up with the lazy days of summer challenge with a ruffle accent nail.

Alexis at Glitter Tips managed to overcome a nasty case of nail art block with a Black and Gold NOTD inspired by her jewellery collection.

Claire at nuthin' but a nail thing managed to get hold of some OPI Black Spotted and gave it a go over some bright NEONS.

Seeing as the British weather has been seasonably rainy, there has been a lack of barbaques this year. Unless it is in the form of nail art from Enigmatic Rambles.

Lou entered the Golden Jungle over at Painted Nails & Baking Scales finding some new polish species to describe

This week at Northern Nails there are Turtles in a Guest Post , Also Jo has started a new series of posts called Mashups!

Emma's been busy swatching the newBarry M Burgundy Croc Effects over different colours on Imagination In Colour!

It's texture time in the BFF Challenge and Kerrie from PishPosh and Polish made great use of Heart-Shaped beads but was it a success?

Ruth had some fun with pastel colours and created some colourful zebra nails using her new stampers!

Steph is showing off. Peacock feathers in the (rare) sunshine.

It's been a special week for Allie and in celebration she's been wearing some Sea Green Glitter Birthday Nails.

Dimpal is absolutely loving these fish egg nails Fish Egg Nails she also did Nicole's Me+Blue Mani

Sarah Louise reviews LeaLaC's Stamping Plate XL - A See the post for swatches and a manicure using her first Bettina Nail Polish.

Sam at Polished Art kicked off the 31 Day Challenge with a red leopard print mani.

Kerry starts the first off Nail Inc Sprinkle swatches with Sweets Way.

Me+Blue is very pretty blue polish which has micro holo glitters in it... pictures doesnt do the justice here although i clicked a lot to get the actual shade and effects.. the shade is brighter and the white glitters u r seeing in above pic are actually multi color glitters... the polish is just awesome in  direct light...

NOTD: Fish Eggs Nails

Hi
Fish Eggs Nails or Micro-bead Nails or "Caviar Nails" are not a new manicure all we know but some how i was not totally fall for it when i first saw it , i thought it must be very irritating and the whole time i would think am having some balls on my nails and they would fall out here and there may be while m cooking something or so that kept me away to try this mani.. but when i did it , it was just opposite of wht i expected .. quite easy to apply and i definitely didnt eat beads in my meals :P

This nail trend faced lots of drama as the UK polish maker Ciate mailed various bloggers demanding they stop using the term "Caviar" nail art, which they are in the process of trying to trademark as their own( you can see tht here). They didn't come up with the whole "Caviar" nail art idea to begin as this was done like an year ago by the nail technician Pattie Yankee and the Dashing Diva nail team at the Cushnie et Ochs fashion show. So basically stealing some one else's idea and then trademarking it for urself isnt cool...

anyway i got set of 12 mini beads from ebay for just £2.25... isnt tht dirt cheap..here's the look :
Base: Inglot 955
silver and blue mixed beads
SV top coat

oh the last pic is very well inspired by Kejal's photography.. i luv how she clicks her pics.. simply awesome

i have been wearing it almost from 2 days.. there is a little fall out around the sides of nails but still its looking pretty.

so  gals wht say Yay or Nay !!!

Review & NOTD: Splash Mani on BeautyUK Cosmetics Candy Collection

hey ya!!!

today i am presenting u Beautyuk cosmetics Candy Collection glam nails.. BeautyUK, is a British beauty brand which can be found in most Superdrug stores or on www.beautyukcosmetics.com. Here's what they say about the company:

"Born and bred in the UK (hence the name), beautyuk has grown from strength to strength since its humble beginnings five years ago. We are a family run business, which is quite nice really in a world full of big, scary, faceless corporations, and it means we can provide a much friendlier, more tailored service for our customers.
We have big plans to become the number one colour cosmetics brand in the market and we think our website makes our statement quite nicely - we hope you like it."

i already own some of  polishes from their saloon professional range and quit pleased with their quality.. so whn i saw this collection on their fb page i couldnt resist d candy colors.. so i ordered and got the parcel in 2-3 days.. It came in a beautiful pink bubble envelope which is too pretty. Here's the collection:
from l-r  no.69 Jelly Bean, no.67 Bon Bon, no.70 Dolly Mixture, no.66 Gobstopper and no.65 Lollipop

Jelly Bean is a matte purple.. actually it isnt complet matte polish, it is just less shinier thn bon bon , dolly mixture and lollipop.
Dolly Mixture is a orange-red creme.
Bon Bon is a musturd yellow cream , its very streaky for d first coat compare to the other but get set with a little heavy 2nd coat.
Gobstopper is again a matte finish which i doesnt found actual matte but i like the shade so no regrets :)
Lollipop is a bright pink..it looks lil brighter thn the pics..
i applied 2 coats of each polish.
i did a silver splash (chapaak :P)  mani on thm
 Base color: beautyuk candy collection
Stamping polish: barry m silver foil
stamping plate: cheeky mega image plate

a close-up
the following pic i took after 2 days
these polishes had minimal chip. they are a bit streaky for first coat bt settles down for smoother finish on 2nd coat..
this polishes costs £1.99 per piece which is quite cheap right and they do ship international which is just awesome. you can also buy them from superdrug.
 hope u find it helpful.

Tutorial & NOTD: New Nail Trend- Velvet finish Nails Look

Hi,
Happy Friendship Day to u all (belated)...  i am so grateful to blogging cause i come to knw so many nice ppl and learn really a lot.. this friendship day was even more special as we blog friends did a secret friend gifts exchange thing.. :)...

coming to the today's post the other day i was surfing internet and come to know about this Velvet finish nail look and i just get clean bowled.. it looked so so catchy tht i want it on my nails right thn... here's what i did:

Velvet finish manicure or flock manicure is a new trend in Manicure World... and the hero of this manicure is a flocking powder which is a  made up of masse of tiny fibers and gives a super velvety finish. i got my set from ebay.

Here's how to do it:
1.Apply base coat and then 2 coats of base polish(Barry M Strawberry Ice cream which is closest match to my pink flocking powder)
2. when the base color dries completely apply clear top coat on ur one nail and either dip ur nail in flocking powder or pour some flocking powder over it.
3. press gently with ur finger tip in tap-tap motion and dust off the excess powder on a paper.
4. repeat step 2 and 3 for each of ur nail one at a time.
Ta-dahh and its done..
doesnt it looks like yummy candy floss :)
and boy it was super soft and velvety on touch .. i just keep touching it every now and then..

its waterproof and the powder doesn't fall out.. i did dishes like 2-3 times.. cooked food.. and hell lots of other work as i just shifted to new room

it stayed only for a day on me because i was doing hell lot of physical work but i think it can stay pretty descent for 2-3 days and no doubts it amazing for fun outings and any special occasions.

so gals what u say .. is it a Yay or Nay !!!!

Review n NOTD: Chameleon Color Changing Effect from Barry M

Hi,
how was ur weekend gals?? mine was one of the awesome .. i did a lil TBS haul saw movie and thn went for Beach Volleyball and Hockey Olympics match sessions on sunday and monday .. :) i wanted to do mani for each of the event bt cldnt find time for a single :( ..  so today's post is about another effect post for lazy polish lovers .. it's Chameleon Effect polish range from Barry M.. these are just for £3.99 for 10ml
from L-R 330 chameleon pink, 331 chameleon blue and 332 chameleon lilac.

How does these work
1. Apply a basecoat and then apply one coat of your chameleon nail paint and allow to dry
2. Apply second coat and allow to dry
3. Create a design with your clear nail paint and watch it change color

My Experience
the shade i am reviewing here is Chameleon Blue.. its a pearly finish soft blue shade which is quite opaque in a single coat
i applied 2 coats of the polish and let it dry as instructed after that i did a lil tape mani using top coat and whoa the color changed where i apply the top coat into a nice burgundy color.
nice n quite simple.. isnt it?? i did a lil NOTD too.
i liked this effect very much except tht it got chipped in 3 days :(
also i wish there are more color available in this range

do u like this ???
