Franken Set from Mica Moma UK

Hello

I am late in posting today but i was out whole weekend and that's why couldn't schedule the post.

Today's post is very exciting specially for UK girls. We all like indie polishes and some of us(like me) always wish to try their hands on making them but finding the supplies within UK is very tough and was almost impossible as suppliers here in UK doesn't sells the suspension base in smaller quantity.

Luckily we now have Mica Moma here in UK. Mica moma is an onlise store who stock franken supplies like suspension base, mica pigment, glitters, steel balls, empty polish bottles and other franken supplies. Not only this they also stock supplies for lips and eyes products.

I wan sent a franken starter kit to test which reached me safely in two days.
franken starter kit in uk
The kit has following products in it:

3 x 15ml nail polish bottles (containing Micamoma suspension base)
3 x 10ml empty nail polish bottles
1 x 0.5ml easy pour measuring spoon
1 x 0.05ml easy pour measuring spoon
1 x solvent resistant Funnel
10 x Large Steel Balls 6mm (solvent resistant)
5 x 5g High Quality Solvent resistant Glitter(i got 5gm bag of each silver holo, golden, burgundy, black,  copper hex)
5 x 5g High Quality Mica powder(i got iridescent green, azure, snow white, black magic and hot pink)

Obviously i was too excited to make my franken polishes that i didn't take photos when the parcel arrived hence missing two bottle of suspension base and steel balls.

It also comes with an instruction note where the step bt step  process of making your own polish is mentioned.

I made six franken polishes(5-8ml) with two suspension base bottles. I  haven't give them a name yet but here they are:

I used five empty polish bottles which i already have.
first one in top left is a polish is a mix of  iridescent green mica, suspension base, black hex and silver holo hex glitters..
Second is a simple mix  of burgundy, black and silver holo glitter top coat.
Third one is a crelly formula with black and burgundy glitters suspended in a pink gelly base.
Forth one is created using black mica and silver holo hex and a very little amount of golden hex.
Fifth is a mix of silver and golden glitters in suspension base i added little bit of clear polish to it.
and lastly Sixth is a simple black crelly which has copper glitters.

I made this polishes two days before and applied them today. Suspension base is great and the glitters didn't sunk to bottom. Mica is also  worked nice no setting in the base and applied beautifully.

so which one you liked most..Any of these you want me to show on my nails.

If you had this kit what kinda polish you would have created??

you can get this kit and check out other glitter and supplies on Mica Moma Website. You can also follow them on Facebook or Twitter.

Two New Franken Polish and Borough Babe Supply Store Glitters: Review/Swatch

Hello
Frankening polishes is my latest love. I showed you my first franken here. After this polish turned out great it encouraged me to create more and i started my search to get more glitters. While searching etsy i come to know about Borough Babe Supply store.  They have really wide range on glitters, premixed glitters, mica and other franken supply. Store owner, Shannon is a lovely person sent me a love package to try out glitters.

I got them in 10 days near my hubby's b'day. Here are the two polishes i made.

Both of them as i said, are glitter bombs in a slightly tinted base.

I got following glitters:

I got one more glitter mix, of which i cldnt take picture as i used it all in creating Dream Valentine :)

Now to the swatches of polishes:

Birthday Boy as i said is dedicated to my loving hubby for all of his support and love.  This Polish has tint of sky blue with red square glitter, big holo blue , small white hex glitters with small white square and blue bar glitters. This also has small holo butterflies and tiny blue hex glitters for added shimmer.
Although it can  be wear  on its own with 3 coats for full opacity but i layered single coat here on  barry m retro blue. The glitter mix i used here is It's a boy with my own tiny blue hex.

Dream Valentine is a pink tint polish with red, pink purple hex glitters, red bar, white diamond and square glitters, blue stars and tiny purple hex. Here i layered a coat of dream valentine over opi lucky lucky lavender..this polish has slight placement issue as a single dip get loads of glitter out of bottle.

over all, i loved the pre mixed glitters as well as other glitters. Its been almost 12 days since i created the both and these swatches done yesterday. so you can see that glitters are still doing great and not sinking to bottom too.

Borough Babe Supply international at reasonable prices.
You can get these as well as other glitters on their Etsy Store or you can also check their blog boroughbabesupply.blogspot.com
and can find them on Pinterest.

Please do comment  if you like Birthday Boy or Dream Valentine or both.

"Pumpkin Cocktail"- My First Franken Polish + Misfits On 8th Store Review

Hello Chics,

I have shown you many franken or indie polishes like Darling Diva Polish, F4 Polish, Feenix Polish and today i  am gonna show you a franken polish created by myself.

Franken polish as you may know is a polish created by youself either by mixing few polishes and glitters or starting from scrap and adding pigments to polish base. Sounds tough but believe me its as easy once you understand the ratio of ingredients.

Pumpkin Cocktail is the first polish i created  and I am very very happy with the results.First have a look:

I put 1, 2, 3 and 4 coats of polish from my pinky to index respectively.
Pumpkin Cocktail is a crelly base polish having black and aqua teal square glitters and very tiny azure hex glitters.

The hardest part was giving it a name and I am so blessed that some lovely fellow bloggers helped me to  name it.

I used suspension base to create this polish as it prevent glitters to sink and after 72 hours glitter are all floating in the polish and easy to use.. I am very proudly say that this polish is loaded with glitter and i didnt have to do fishing for them :)

Now the point is from where to get perfect polish supplies, glitter tht doesn't bleed and base which gave them a float.  Like India, its tough to get suspension base here in UK and many US supplier doesn't supply international.

It led me to do more n more googl-ing and then I come to know about an etsy shope Misfits On 8th who was selling suspension base in 15ml bottle. I talked to Natasha, owner of the shop and a sweetheart. She sent me a sample pack of the suspension base and few glitters.
The parcel arrived safely and well packed and i was surprised to see all those glitters. Suspension base has 2 steel balls in it.

The best thing is she ships international and thats all i wanted. I have already shown you nice quality of glitters and base. She even has starter kits for making your own polishes and options for 40z, 8oz, 16oz suspension base.

Currently she is running two offers. One is buy 2 get 1 free on 15ml suspension base bottle till 31st December and another is 15% discount till 1st January.

Checkout her Etsy Store HERE
You can also   contact her on her FB Fan Page

So, do you like my Pumpkin Cocktail.

Please do comment and share your views about it. I would love to hear what you say about my first effort.
